You will receive an invitation to the course from "notifications@instructure.com". Sometimes these invitations end up in a spam/junk folder.

Please note, the invitation will work best in the following browsers: Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.

The invitation email will contain a blue "get started" button—

—which will take you to the first "Welcome Aboard!" dialog:

There are two buttons on this dialog:

I Have a Canvas Account
Create My Account

The "I Have a Canvas Account" option is designed for users that have an existing account on the Canvas Learning Management system. Clicking this button allows a user to combine an existing account with her or his new Canvas Catalog account. DO NOT use this option!

When you click the "Create My Account" button, you will be taken to the second "Welcome Aboard!" dialog:

The first field in this dialog—"Login"—shows your email address:

This field is grayed out because you cannot change this value—you will always login to Catalog with your email address. If you need to change your email address, send an email request to accessibledocs@webaim.org.

You will complete this form in five steps:

Type a value in the "Password" field:

You may want to record your password in a secure location.
Choose your time zone from the "Time Zone" dropdown menu:
Click the Acceptable Use Policy link.

A new page will open. Read through the Acceptable Use Policy and close the page using the button in the upper-right hand corner when you are finished:
Check the "I agree to the Acceptable Use Policy" checkbox (required to enroll in the course).
Click the "Register" button.

Now that you are registered, if the course is open, you will be taken to the course's "Home" page.
